This leather is very rugged and will last for years.  It is a staple material on many flip flop brands.  As you wear them, the moisture and oils from your skin will begin to show on the flip flops.  This is completely okay!  It is not necessary to do anything to protect the leather.  Nubuck does not need to be conditioned, and it will last for years without additional care. Only use a damp cloth to clean your flip flops. ​
